Aubrie Morris
My name is Aubrie Morris. - and in 2015, I was diagnosed with chronic laryngitis.
Me, (an aspiring singer), ran to a doctor and, however, being diagnosed with laryngitis, I was never told to stay quiet. Due to that, for 6 months, instead of speaking normally to my family and friends, I was only able to whisper, let alone sing.
Yes, I did have three and four-month follow-ups to the same and similar doctors, which caused my voice to progress into Muscle Tension Dysphonia. I was at the Dr’s like crazy, I googled everything, I bought everything. And then I found Diana.
I actually spoke to Diana, I found Vocal Science early, but tried my absolute best not to fly, as I did not think I could get it together to do that.
I just got back November 7, 2019, and I'm thanking God I went.
After the 6 months of my chronic laryngitis, I had been through everything the Internet had to offer, everything on Google with some common sense to it and some of the stuff with no common sense to it.
- I bought the best Tmrg kit
- I subscribed to Per Bristow for 3 months
- I did singing repair lessons at UPMC for 2months.
- I called California Physics
- Facesteam
Everything I could think of.
Absolutely the worst years of my life.
Man, when your dreams are gone, so is your hope.
Let alone the pain every day you have to live with, no one can understand unless they've had a vocal problem, and if they haven't had a vocal problem themselves, they don't care. After everything the internet had to offer and everything I’ve tried failed in helping, I really stopped caring. I lost friends, stopped getting my hair done, It was bad! I had no other choice. No matter what it was, I had nowhere else to turn.
I called Diana in a panic.
It took me 4, or 5 long painful months to get the money together. I had to work really, really hard to get the money together. I barely slept, but how hard would you work to have HOPE back?!
I worked very hard - practically back to back - to get to Toronto, and I WOULD DO IT AGAIN!
After coming to Diana for singing lessons and treatment for my muscle tension dysphonia, I finally see myself again. I have hope for the future. Every day that I keep using Diana 's method of speaking, my voice gets less heavy, it gets stronger.
Depending on how long you've had your problem, you might not understand, but I can hear my voice in my head again. Meaning while my voice gets stronger, I can write my songs again. I'm so happy that I went and I am so happy I found Diana.
The only regret I have was that I didn't go straight to Diana first.
I'm so thankful I didn't listen to the doctors and did not get the vocal surgery they suggested… I'm not even sure what kind of surgery it would have been, but I'm so glad I tried a different approach. I cannot even imagine what they were going to do to me.
